Learn some new math and logic games to help enhance your problem solving skills. Come see how fun math can be! Ms. McNeal is our very own 3rd Grade teacher and has been teaching elementary school for 12 years. She is passionate about creating an excitement and love of math.
Russian FULL!

Wednesdays Dates: April 7,14,21,28, May 5,12 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Students will continue and learn the Russian alphabet, basic pronunciation, survival expressions and words. Come explore a foreign language and see what is similar to ours… Graeme Badger has a B.A. in Russian and Eastern European Studies and loves sharing his knowledge of Russian with others! He has taught the YES Club here at UPE the past 2 years.

Come learn picture taking tips, editing photos and creating a finished product to share with others. We’ll take lots of photos so bring your ideas. If you have your own camera you may bring it to use in class! Mrs. Reiter is the Computer Teacher here and loves sharing technology with the students.
Rock Climbing FULL
Instructor: Bruce Hamilton Grades: 4&5 Cost: $90
Tues/Thurs Dates: April 13,15,20,22,27 ** 3:30-6:00 p.m.
Rock Climbing offers students a safe and fun experience with bouldering and roped climbing to enhance communication skills, build confidence, foster teamwork, increase personal responsibility, learn and apply physics and geology, and have FUN! Parents must provide transportation to Garden of the Gods or Red Rock Canyon for the climbs. **1-2 dates may change
Bruce Hamilton is the senior guide, with more than 30 years’ experience with climbing and instruction. Registration packets must be filled out and returned no later than Wed, April 7th.
Take a Nature Hike! FULL!
Instructors: Mr. Barbera & Mr. Pletsch Grades: 1-3 Cost: $25
Thursdays Dates: April 8,15,22,29, May 6,13 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Like to hike, play in the dirt and explore? Then join us for nature classes this spring. Let’s go outside and explore the area and trail from school. The hikers will keep a journal about the changes seen over a short time, look at specimens under a microscope, and check on our geo-cache. Mr. Barbera and Mr. Pletsch are the First Grade teachers at UPE. Parental help is requested since we will be walking from the school.

Come share in designing and building a permanent musical, interactive, and kinesthetic sculpture for our playground! You will help construct a percussion instrument for all the school and community to enjoy. Steve Wood from Concrete Couch and Darren Fuller a former UPE student will be working with the students to understand sculpture and musical construction! (Donations accepted to cover construction costs and materials-Thanks)

Come have fun, enhance your skills, and exercise your mind all while learning the rules of board and card games. Ms. Weber, the UPE Playground supervisor, would love to help you learn a new game or bring your favorite game to share with others! Parents are welcome to help out and join the fun!
